Former Vice President and Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris on Tuesday admitted to “The View” on Tuesday that she underestimated just how much Americans wanted her to break from her deeply unpopular boss, President Joe Biden.
Returning to “The View” a year after she famously said “there is not a thing that comes to mind,” when asked if she would have done anything differently than Biden during his four years in office, Harris suggested part of her hesitation in answering the question outright was due to fear that it would be “received or suggested to be a criticism” of Biden by the former president and his staff. She said she was trying to be “loyal” and thought the difference “was obvious.”
Some political commentators have said they believe the former VP’s response on “The View,” just 28 days out from the presidential election, was a detrimental turning point in her candidacy. In polls, voters had soured on Biden’s presidency, with inflation being a sticking point — points that Donald Trump and Republicans hammered en-route to returning to power.
