Jesse Watters, Alex Jones, Steve Bannon, and other major right-wing voices are targeting the left and demanding “force” and “war” to respond to the murder of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk on Wednesday, before a suspect has been named.
“The political left has declared a jihad,” far-right political commentator David Bozell said.
“The left is evil and insane and needs to be crushed with the force of the state,” Infowars host Harrison H. Smith said.
“We’re in a war,” said Jones, a fellow Infowars host and far-right conspiracy theorist. “The left has been saying, put a bullseye on Trump, a bullseye on his supporters, they’ve been calling for violence.”
“They are at war with us,” Watters said on Fox News’ “The Five” on Wednesday evening, less than an hour after Kirk was pronounced dead in Utah. “We’re watching what they’re saying on television and who’s saying what. The politicians, the media, and all these rats out there. This can never happen again. It ends now.”
“[Kirk] talked about the fact that, you know, the American left is at war with us, and then he was murdered in cold blood,” right-wing writer Bethany Mandel said on Fox News. “This is a war for the future of our country.”
“Charlie Kirk’s a casualty of war,” Bannon, a former Trump adviser, said on his “War Room” podcast. “We’re at war in this country.”
