“Just kill ‘em”: Fox’s Brian Kilmeade says mentally ill homeless people should get an “involuntary lethal injection.”

Fox News host Brian Kilmeade apologized after he made incendiary and violent comments that proposed killing mentally ill homeless individuals.

On Wednesday of last week, the “Fox & Friends” host said mentally ill homeless people should get an “involuntary lethal injection.”

“Just kill ‘em,” he added.

Kilmeade was responding to fellow host Lawrence Jones railing against mentally ill homeless people who refuse to accept social services. Jones had been making the argument for involuntary confinement, a policy by which mentally ill people are forced into in-patient mental health facilities.

“They have given billions of dollars to mental health and the homeless population. A lot of them don’t want to take the programs, a lot of them don’t want to get the help that is necessary,” Jones said. “You can’t give them a choice. Either you take the resources that we’re going to give you, or you decide that you’re going to be locked up in jail. That’s the way it has to be now.”

After Kilmeade made the “kill ‘em” comments — which came the same day as Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk’s assassination — he asked Dr. Drew Pinsky, on Sunday on Kilmeade’s show “One Nation,” what the prescription is for the increasingly violent political rhetoric being used in the country.

“Try to develop empathy as much as possible,” Dr. Drew responded.

Kilmeade on Sunday apologized for his comments about homeless people, saying, “I wrongfully said they should get lethal injections. I apologize for that extremely callous remark.”
