“Pissing contests ... between the men”: Marjorie Taylor Greene slams govt. shutdown and Speaker Johnson on “The View.”

GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene told “The View” that she was tired of “pissing contests” between men on Capitol Hill as the federal government shutdown drags on, and called out Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson for not bringing the House back into session.

“I’m with women, so I feel very comfortable saying this: I’m really tired of the pissing contests in Washington, D.C., between the men. I really am,” the Georgia Republican said Tuesday morning.

“The government has failed all of us,” she added. “I have no problem pointing fingers at everyone. And the worst thing that I just can’t get over is, we’re not working right now. And I put that criticism directly on the Speaker of the House. And we should be at work.”

“All the people sitting in this audience — they go to work every day. People at home watching the show — they go to work every day. Ladies, you go to work every day, the people on your set,” Greene added, speaking to the show hosts. “And it is an embarrassment to me that we’re not in session.”

Greene has become a bit of a gadfly in recent months, breaking with the Republican Party on foreign policy, crypto, artificial intelligence, the debate over releasing the “Epstein Files,” and even health care during the government shutdown, despite being a fierce supporter of President Donald Trump and the MAGA movement. Her independence from her party follows reporting that the White House convinced her to not run for U.S. Senate earlier this year, but she has dismissed any claim that is fueling her contrarian streak.
