Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley gave sharp criticism of former President Donald Trump in an interview on “The Breakfast Club,” saying he’s “just toxic” and that he lacks “moral clarity.”
Haley, in an interview with radio host Charlamagne tha God that was published Wednesday morning, was asked how the former president has changed politics “for the good and bad.”
“He's made it chaotic. He's made it self-absorbed,” She said. “He's made people dislike and judge each other. He's left that a president should have moral clarity and know the difference between right or wrong. And he's just toxic.”
Haley, who served as Trump’s ambassador to the United Nations, also reflected on his time in the White House.
“I think a lot of the things he broke needed to be broken. But he doesn't know how to fix things again. And it's not okay to just break. You've gotta fix it and make it better.”
Haley’s comments come as some Republicans have pressured her to drop out of the race after losing to Trump in the Iowa Caucuses and New Hampshire primary.
