Maine law enforcement used a map to show the status of the manhunt for Robert Card, who is suspected of having killed 18 people in shootings in Lewiston, Maine.
Card is still at large, and a car connected to him was found at a boat launch on the Androscoggin River, which connects to the Kennebec River that flows to the ocean.
Officials pointed to points of interest along the Androscoggin River, explaining a plan that will involve “air resources” flying over to attempt to “clear from the air” locations where you can see the bottom.
Divers will then enter the water near the boat launch, alongside ground searches in the area. They will be looking for evidence and “potential bodies” in the water.
Officials were careful to insist that “while this is going to look like a major focus today with a lot of people, we have a lot of other irons in the fire.”
