Just four weeks after narrowly averting a government shutdown, resulting in the ousting of Speaker of the House and three weeks of non-governance from the House of Representatives, House Republican Chip Roy from Texas told Fox Business’ Stuart Varney that he was prepared to “take our country back” by stopping spending. Varney pushed back, asking if he was prepared to shut down the government again.
Roy responded asking if we should continue to fund the United Nations which “stood with Hamas,” a “wide-open" border, the World Health Organization, which he characterized as one of a number of “leftist organizations and rags that have been undermining our ability to have healthcare freedom,” or a “bloated” budget.
Varney kept pushing, asking why he would bother to stop the government again after it “embarrassed” the Republican party just four weeks ago. Roy argued that he had put together a better budget, but Varney pushed again, asking, “What’s the point when you know you don’t have the votes?”
Representative Roy replied that Varney should only have Democrats on the show from now on.
